Lee Motorsports is a nationwide authorized XS Power dealer. Start with your vehicle's electrical system, then compare starting demand, reserve load, installation space and charging requirements.

Five checks before choosing a racing battery

  1. Voltage: Keep the battery, charger and vehicle electronics compatible. A 16V battery requires a system designed to support it.
  2. Starting and reserve: Cranking amps, cold-cranking amps, maximum current and amp-hours describe different requirements. Include between-round electrical loads.
  3. Physical fit: Check actual dimensions, terminals, polarity and the hold-down. Package dimensions are not installation dimensions.
  4. Chemistry: AGM, LiFePO4 and TITAN8 LTO need different model-specific charging and installation checks.
  5. Charging: Follow the exact battery and charger manuals. Do not assume matching nominal voltage proves compatibility.

Compare popular 16V AGM options

16V AGM model CCA CA Maximum amps Battery weight
D1600 682 775 2400 46.68 lbs
S1600 458 520 2000 31.49 lbs
XP1000 605 675 2400 46.5 lbs

Compare the weight/output tradeoff with your starting and reserve needs. Check the product page and model instructions before selecting a charger or mount.

AGM, lithium or SuperBANK?

  • AGM: Compare starting, racing and reserve models with the correct voltage and fit.
  • Lithium: Distinguish LiFePO4 from TITAN8 LTO and verify mounting location, temperature limits, BMS provisions and charging profile by model.
  • SuperBANK: Ultracapacitors support short current demands. They do not perform the same reserve-energy job as a battery.
