Practical application examples

Between-round race-car loads: Include the fuel pump, ignition, electric fan and data logger in the reserve calculation. Repeated starts plus time in staging can require more stored energy than a single engine start.

Electrical-system planning: For a 16V setup, verify the starter, ECU, ignition, pumps and charger. This is a system-voltage choice, not a direct replacement for an ordinary 12V vehicle.

What do the power ratings mean?
CA and CCA describe starting performance under different test conditions. Maximum amps describes peak current capability. Amp-hours describe stored charge at a stated test rate; these ratings are not interchangeable. Actual runtime depends on load, temperature, voltage cutoff and battery condition.
