This procedure applies to matching reusable swivel ends and braided rubber hose. Use the PTFE procedure for ferrule-style PTFE ends.

  1. Cut square. Measure the route, cut perpendicular with hose shears, and remove debris. FLF discourages abrasive cutting because contamination can remain inside.
  2. Seat the hose. Protect the socket in soft vise jaws. Insert the hose with the braid intact; FLF specifies roughly 1/8 inch (2–3 mm) between the hose end and socket threads.
  3. Lubricate lightly. Follow FLF’s oil guidance for threads and nipple; its procedure excludes grease and anti-seize.
  4. Start by hand. Insert the body and engage threads smoothly. Stop if it binds. Finish with suitable AN tools; FLF describes about 1/16 inch (1–2 mm) body-to-socket clearance.
  5. Clean and test. Remove residue with a compatible cleaner and pressure-test before service. Inspect installed joints for leakage.

Shop swivel ends and tools. Flare torque limits concern the completed AN connection, not the socket assembly.
